This is when outreach is performed to earn backlinks to your site. The situations in which this occurs can be if your domain name changes, a re-branding occurs, or when your brand is mentioned online (in an article, blog post, etc.) and there is no link from the mention going back to your website, creating the opportunity for a new link. When this happens, link reclamation involves reaching out to the blogger, news outlet, or webmaster and requesting that a link to your site be added to the appropriate anchor text.
